Promoting health and safety

Promoting health and safety

Safety is our number one business priority – globally and in the UK. Our goal is zero-accidents by 2020, so whether in production, transportation, sales or our support functions, we’re committed to world-class health and safety standards.

Policies and safety training

Policies and safety training

We have robust systems and policies in place to help avoid accidents from occurring, and procedures to limit harm if they do. Our Health and Safety management system is accredited to the internationally recognised standard, OHSAS 18001.

Our extensive safety training programme focuses on people who work in high-risk roles. In 2015, we delivered almost 13,000 hours of training to colleagues in production to make sure they’re equipped with the knowledge they need to stay safe.

Creating a safety culture

Creating a safety culture

To create a zero-accident workplace, we also need to create a safety culture in which colleagues live safe behaviour day-to-day. To help us achieve this we:

-   Make safety the number one behaviour that we expect from all colleagues – as set out in HEINEKEN’s greenprint to win.

-   Rolled out 12 Life Saving Rules which clearly outline the dos and don’ts for high- risk activities.
